LPS induced inflammation in DBA/1 mice

Pharmacokinetic, in vivo screening
Figure 1: Concentration of CCL2 in blood at 5 different time points after application of different doses of LPS (i.p.), UTC = untreated control.

Field of application:

Lipopolysaccharides are an integral component of the outer membrane of gram negative bacteria and cause a systemic inflammation after i.p. application. Various methods (small molecules, etc.) for altering (increase / decrease) inflammatory parameters can be measured.

The model can be used for the following fields of application:

  • Inflammation
  • Biodistribution
  • Proof of concept

Endpoints/Outcome parameter

  • Inflammatory parameters (cytokines)

Readout parameter

  • BioPlex
  • Cytokine Array (membrane based)
  • Western Blot

Quality management and validation

  • Non GLP
  • Controls
  • Randomisation
  • Blinded data collection and analysis
  • Internal quality management
